She has flawless skin. Her beautiful thick tresses lay accross her back, so soft; so full. Her teeth are as bright white as the stars against a pitch black sky. Her eyes draw you in and make you want to get closer. Her body is to die for causing heads to turn every way that she walks. Her name is Beauty. All of the men want her and the women want to be her. But there is a flaw with Beauty; a huge one if you ask me. Beauty is sleeping. She sleeps because she doesn’t have a clue.
She thinks that all that all of her worth is wrapped up in her looks. She clings to her beauty desperately; dressing it to make sure that all eyes are always on her. It gives her the affirmation that she so desperately craves.
She doesn’t know who she is. She has no idea where she’s going. She is ready to settle for anyone that will affirm what she herself doesn’t truly believe about herself. She doesn’t know that to One, she is worth dying for…
But there also is one who hated her from her birth. He’s put a curse on her and said that he would cause her to die young. He would never let her live to reach her full potential. When she’s fifteen he attempts to kill her, but the Prince Who has always loved her interrupts and only allows her to fall into a deep sleep. She’s asleep only for as long as she chooses to be because her Prince longs to come to her rescue. He wants to kiss her so that she will come out of her deep sleep to realize that there is value in her if she would just embrace Him.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way. When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him. (Psalm 2:12)
Why would anyone settle for so much less than their worth? We crave to be beautiful because we believe that beauty equals confidence. But the thing about it is that some of the most physically beautiful people that I have met are the most insecure people that I have met. Why? Because when you think that outer beauty is the best thing about you, it becomes a never-ending quest to get more of it. It will never be enough to just be beautiful, but you will need to be the most beautiful or it will not satisfy. This is a huge deception; a chasing after the wind. Wake up from your sleep because the Prince of Peace wants to be intimate with you. Your Prince is a gentleman and He will never force Himself on you. Make yourself available to Him. Let Him make Himself known to you today. You will never regret it.
