He restores my soul (Psalm 23:3 KJV)
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall; Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put Humpty together again. I’ve always wondered how high Humpty must’ve been to break into so many small pieces that nobody could put him back together again. But then one day, while I was cooking, an egg fell out of my hand onto the counter and broke. I realized that an egg doesn’t need to fall from a high place to break because it is so fragile.
I’ve felt like Humpty. I’ve been so fragile that it didn’t take me falling from a high place for me to break into a million pieces when I fell. And when I fell, there wasn’t a thing that anyone could say to make me feel whole again. Friends and family tried to help but there was not an encouraging word that could make me feel better.
Have you ever fallen and felt so very broken that you couldn’t get up? Then your church family and friends try to help you up but the truth is, there is only so much that people can do for you when you are broken. Sometimes a fall is exactly what a fragile person needs in order to be put back together whole!
Humpty had the king’s horses and the king’s men but thanks be to God that we have the King! He will pick you up with all of the many pieces and restore you to your true self! And not only will He put you back together but He’ll put you back together better and stronger than you were before! He is a mighty God and we have to trust Him today because truly He has come to restore! Thank you Jesus!
Food for thought: I must know that God is powerful enough to restore me from whatever state that I am in.
